Casa Balata is a farm house, but it is also so much more. The old structure was completely renovated respecting the shapes, sizes and materials originally used. It is a facility offering our visitors a different experience, beyond time and space, a unique experience that aims at touching the soul. An enchanted place, among olive trees, native plants and healing herbs, perfumes and colours, nature trails, earth, rocks and the sea, a place where the only sound is the wind blowing, where TVs are replaced by books, a place where still today, at night, it’s possible to admire an extraordinary starry sky, away from any form of light pollution, a place where you can appreciate the fusion between the beautiful and unspoiled Sicilian countryside with the Mediterranean sea. Our philosophy, which is reflected in every detail of Casa Balata, is that of strictly respecting nature and the environment, and this can be been in the choices that we’ve made. For this reason all our agricultural produce – cold pressed extravirgin olive oil, citrus fruits, fruits, vegetables, aromatic and herbal plants, are all ORGANIC and the energy needed for the facility is produced by our photovoltaic panels. Also our bio-pool was designed to perfectly integrate with the surrounding environment and built with special materials that totally harmonize it from a landscape point of view.

The position of the farmhouse "Casabalata" located over 200 meters above sea level, dominating the stretch of the coast of Agrigento that goes from the town of Realmonte to Siculiana for its picturesque and wild position, allows mountain bike excursions that meet every need; is that of the expert biker who prefers technical routes, that the cyclists who want to pedal peacefully enjoying the particularity of the places .. They are proposed (apart) two ring routes, of different distance, with departure and arrival from the farm, which allow the visit of most of the naturalistic localities

A van equipped for transporting bikes and passengers is also available to bring the most experienced cyclists and bikers to the places from which the other tours listed below will start:

Casa Balata has 4 beautiful and confortable rooms with king size beds all ensuit. The bedrooms are all different from each-other but equally beautifully refurnished and decorated. The two common areas include two large open spaces some large and rich bookshelves available to guest and a fireplace. On the ground floor is located a large and elegant dining-room all refurnished in a beautiful retro sicilian style. Casa balata has a rooftop terrace on the first floor and a telescope to admire the beauty of the sicilian sky which sometimes in summer nights gives the most spectacular show of all.

The restaurant which is exclusive to guest offers typical sicilian dishes made with local organic products and fresh fish only.
